January: Day 10
If you’ve kept up with
this blog then it has now officially become a habit. It takes 10 days to form a habit and that’s
where we are today: on our 10th day.
Has this blog done
anything for you?
Given you any new
insight into yourself?
Or God?
Do you think the
re-modelling of your relationship with God is under way?
Or at least that a tiny
step has been taken in the right direction?
Can I tell you what I
hope? (You know I’m going to anyway!)
I hope that you don’t just know with your head that you’re God’s
I hope that you don’t just know with your head that you’re God’s
But that you have begun
to feel it in your bones!!
I hope that you have
caught a glimpse of what you mean to Him
And of how he cradles
you in the palm of his hand.
I hope that you have
grown in faith-confidence
Because that’s when
exciting things begin to happen...
That’s when you start to
realise God is there
And that he’s interested
Really interested in you –
And more than anything
That he wants the best
for you...
Ever-living God,
Always the same
And yet new every morning,
Help me to rejoice in you...
To find peace in you
And strength for each day.
Help me to realise the value you place on me
As me.
Me.
Unique
Imperfect
Full of foibles,
Me.
Even with all my faults and failings
You see me as one to love...
You see me as one worth giving up everything for...
You see me as belonging to you –
Your child.
May I find the courage to let you lead me
And hold me...
May I find the courage to trust you to carry me
over
even the roughest terrain.
And in you may I discover
My true self.
Someone you think
Is worth dying for.
Grateful thanks, generous God.
wish all my habits were as worthwhile as this one!
